The following is a recent letter to the editor highlighting our board member Dave Olekna's generous gift as a Trustee of the Edward Thatcher Astle Memorial Foundation. 

On behalf of the Board of Trustees, Volunteer Guardianship One-on-One, Inc, I wish to thank the Edward Thatcher Astle Memorial Foundation. The trustees of the Foundation, Joanne Harris and David Olekna, have generously awarded Volunteer Guardianship One-on-One, Inc. with a grant in the amount of $2000.00. The Edward Thatcher Astle Memorial Foundation seeks to improve our community through financial support for scholarships and charities like Volunteer Guardianship One-on-One, Inc.

Volunteer Guardianship One-on-One, Inc. is a non-profit organization that provides court-appointed guardians to those no longer able to care for themselves, and who have no family or other interested persons to assume this important role. Volunteer Guardianship One-0nOne, Inc. recruits, trains, monitors and supports the volunteers.

It is with much gratitude that Volunteer Guardianship One-on-One, Inc. accepts the Edward Thatcher Astle Memorial Foundation’s grant and assures the Trustees that the money will be put to good use serving very vulnerable citizens in our community.
